ExamCreator Privacy Policy (iOS)

Last updated: August 22, 2026

1. Summary

ExamCreator has no accounts and no BridgeAIWorks server. Your exams, questions, and source materials stay on your device. We do not collect personal data, we do not use analytics or advertising, and we do not track you.

The one place your content leaves your device is when you choose to use an AI feature with your own API key. Section 4 explains exactly what that means.

2. Information we collect

BridgeAIWorks collects no personal data from ExamCreator users.

There is no sign-up, no login, and no BridgeAIWorks account. The app does not send your exams, questions, source documents, or usage information to us. We operate no server that receives them.

3. Where your work is stored

Everything you create is stored locally on your device: your question bank, exams, drafts, imported documents, images, and generated PDFs. The app’s database file lives inside its own sandbox container.

ExamCreator does not use iCloud sync. Your content is not copied to any BridgeAIWorks system, and it is not shared between your devices unless you export it yourself and move the file.

Text recognition on photographed or imported material is performed on your device using Apple’s Vision framework. Images are not uploaded for that step.

4. AI providers — bring your own key

AI features are optional and are switched off until you supply your own API key for a provider you choose. ExamCreator does not include or resell AI credits, and we never see your key.

Where the key is kept. Your API key is stored in the Apple Keychain on your device. It is never transmitted to BridgeAIWorks.

What is sent, and to whom. When you use an AI feature, the material needed for that request is sent directly from your device to the provider you selected, under your own account with that provider.

Depending on the feature, that material may include your outline or key points, text extracted on your device from PDFs you supply and from images of course material you photograph or import, the questions in the exam, and the solutions being generated. The image or document file itself is not sent.

Supported providers currently include:

  • OpenAI
  • Google Gemini
  • A local model endpoint you run yourself, such as Ollama or LM Studio — in that case the request does not leave your own machine or network

What happens to it there. Content you send is handled under the terms and privacy practices of the provider you choose, not ours. Retention, human review, and any use for model training are governed by that provider and by the account settings you hold with them. Please read your provider's policy.

What we cannot do. BridgeAIWorks cannot access, retrieve, correct, or delete anything held by an AI provider. If you need content removed there, use that provider’s own account controls or contact them directly. Removing the key in ExamCreator’s Settings stops future requests; it has no effect on material already sent.

Choosing what to send. AI features act only on material you supply for that request. If a document should not be sent to a third party, do not use it as source material for AI generation — ExamCreator supports writing and editing questions by hand, with no AI request involved.

5. Camera and photo library

ExamCreator asks for camera access so you can photograph printed course material, and for photo library access so you can select existing images of it. These are used only for the material you pick, only at the moment you pick it. Images are processed on your device. If you then initiate an AI request as described in Section 4, only the text extracted from the material is sent to the provider; the image or document file itself is not.

ExamCreator's text recognition is used only on course material you supply yourself, to extract text as a basis for generating questions. ExamCreator does not recognise, collect, or process student answers.

You can decline or later revoke either permission in iOS Settings. The rest of the app continues to work.

6. Subscriptions and purchases

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. BridgeAIWorks does not receive or store your payment details, card numbers, or Apple Account information. Purchases, billing, renewals, and refunds are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy, and can be managed or canceled in your Apple Account subscription settings.

The app records, on your device only, how many exams you have exported, so that the free allowance can be applied. That count is not sent to us.

7. Analytics, tracking, and advertising

ExamCreator contains no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracking of any kind. It does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not participate in App Tracking Transparency, because it does not track.

8. Retention and deletion

Because we hold no data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.

On your device, you control everything: delete individual questions, exams, and drafts inside the app, or delete the app to remove its container. If you have saved an API key and want it gone, remove it in Settings before deleting the app.

Anything you already sent to an AI provider is outside our reach — see Section 4.

9. Children and students

ExamCreator is a tool for teachers and other exam authors. It is not directed at children, and it does not ask for or collect information about students. Exams you write may of course be given to students on paper; that content is yours and stays on your device.

10. Third-party content in the app

ExamCreator embeds open-source typesetting software and open-licensed fonts in order to produce printable papers offline. These components run on your device and send nothing anywhere.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change with it. Material changes will be described on this page.
