What is ResearchNote AI?
ResearchNote AI is a local-first personal research workspace. Organize projects and experiments, keep literature PDFs and metadata together, and work with notebooks containing handwriting, typed text, images, and audio notes.
Start a research workspace
- Create a project, then add experiments or research threads that belong to it.
- Add literature metadata, attach a PDF when you have one, or search Crossref by topic, title, author, or DOI.
- Create notebooks for observations, hypotheses, source excerpts, and next steps.
Capture evidence in notebooks
Use handwriting or typed text for notes, add an image or selected file, and record audio when it helps preserve context. OCR and transcription run on your device after you choose the feature and grant the needed iOS permission.
Use optional BYOK AI carefully
Enter your own API key to use a provider you choose, including Gemini, an OpenAI-compatible provider, Ollama, or LM Studio. Before each request, review the shown destination and exact payload, then approve it. Only selected content is sent directly to that provider; ResearchNote AI does not send it through BridgeAIWorks.
Keep control of your work
Your workspace is stored locally. Edit and export material as needed, use Trash to recover applicable items, and permanently delete material when you no longer need it. Apple device or iCloud backups and exported copies are controlled by you or Apple.
Subscriptions
ResearchNote AI offers auto-renewing monthly and yearly subscriptions. The current United States prices are US$0.99 per month and US$9.99 per year. The price, currency, billing period, and any offer shown in your local App Store before purchase control. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings. A legacy lifetime entitlement may remain available to eligible existing users, but it is no longer offered for sale.
